The issue with storage of coins is a bug that they are fixing, so you will be able to combine them between your characters.

Do the quests in HM and you'll get a lot more coins. So the 300+ days claim is wrong. Last night I did Blood Washes Blood in HM and did the Deep in HM. I ended up with something like 275 copper coins. And that's just on ONE character. Getting to 7.5k won't take that long... maybe a few weeks of casual playing.

Also keep in mind, the quests won't always be as involved as the Deep. Like today, for example, is Molatov Rocktail (easy) and Blacktide Den (eeeeeasy).

I have yet to dive in to the combat quests, but from what i saw of the first one, you can get even more coins with those than you can with the pve quests.

Lastly, you get other rewards besides the coins... faction, gold, experience above what you would normally get for doing those quests.

Casual Playing for some is not casual playing for others.

I was really looking forward to the equipment packs and still am. However, I was hoping that they would be outrageously expensive as far as gold costs (say 20-50k). Having to quite literally grind out 7,500 coins is quite disheartening.

That being said... *heads off to go kill some stuff for some Z-Coins*

I think his point was that Guild Wars, which was originally advertised as being a game without grind is now nothing more than grind.

I actually like games that offer huge grinds. I am a gamer and I love to play games when they are well done.

The problem with the transformation of Guild Wars from a game without grind to a game that is nothing but grind center in the fact that A-net realized that they had broken the game beyond fixing and decided to abandon it for a fresh start with Guild Wars 2. This of course means that all of this grinding is for nothing because by the time the Grind Ends GW2 would be the standard and nothing that you have earned in GW1 can be moved to GW2.

I won't bother with the equiptment slot grind because the reward is not really commensurate to the effort involved. It would have been nice if the coins could be sold, as it would give players unwilling to spend 375 days in grind a reason to do some of the quests, which are obviously designed to encourage players to revisit areas that have fallen into disuse as they were not much fun to begin with.

This assumes that you were asking him in earnest as opposed to simply trolling someone who said something you do not like Miss Puddles. I apologize for taking you seriously if in fact this is not the case.

I don't consider a few weeks to be a reasonable time to earn the heavy equipment bag. Not to mention that is just on one character. Multiply that times 3 or 4 for various characters and the wait time becomes ridiculous.

In the end, making the cost of these items so high will be self defeating to the purpose of the daily quests, which was to bring players together in various parts of the game. It will work for a while but then these areas will will quickly be as empty as they ever were.

For instance, once I finally get the bag, do i want to earn elite tomes? They are 1000 copper zcoins each. Do i really want to go through blacktide den 6 times and kill rocktale 7 times to get one? (assuming I am willing to play 7 characters in one day) The money's ok but I can earn more farming. The faction points are pretty useless (got max sunspear and max vanguard already). And that is more than 7 hours of repetitive play to earn something I could have earned the money for by farming in less than half an hour.

Once I get the bags, and i may just give up and settle for smaller ones, why would I want to return to these quests? The reward is just too small for the work involved.

Good grief, just let me buy the dang equipment bag for 75k and I'll be happy.

unless some quests offer alot of coins then this is going to suck to do more than once for each charcter. i already hate doing pve only skill quest for multiple vcharacters.

Unless there are other ways to acquire those bags, those prices are just insane.
I want a bag to store things, not to look at it just before GW2 starts.

The Moss spider, a legendary pet quite hard o get costs 5 GCoins, and a bag with 20 slots costs 20?
It will take me less time to get the pre-Ascalon light bag than the one from GCoins.
That's just bad calculation.

Yeah, you'll be able to make the quests with several characters and sum them up, but that doesn't solve anything.
If all characters give their coins to one so he can get a bag, what do those characters get? Nothing.

If you don't fix the prices, you should at least make them drop in hard mode, or from Dungeon chests, or available at End-credits or elite area collectors or something.

But by all the gods, don't expect us to spend one month per character grinding to get a feature that should be available much faster like the rest of bags have always been.
This is GW, so let's not make numbers and count time with a typical MMORGP in mind, please.

Seriously! Just let me buy the bags... Making me grind for a year or more to get them for all my chars is just ridiculous.

I mean, the zoins aren't even tradable!

Charge me 20k and let me buy a damn 20 slot bag already. This is stupid. The only reason they did that was to make it so that they wouldn't have to actually give anybody 20 more slots until after they make a ton of money by selling storage panels, makeovers and name changes. Now with this grind they'll have a ton of money by the time most people get a bag.

The least they could do is let us use up our zaishen points to buy gold coins or something.

You could also buy a small one for a char or two and then switch to different chars until you earn the larger ones? Then sell the smaller one to someone who needs it cheaper then the merch. Its only 2.4k what else are you going to do with money?

No other everlasting item has ever given points towards any title so why would this be any different?

I am hoping that the "equipment packs" will be able to be sold. I would definitely buy at least 3 of the 20 slot size!

I wish there was a better way to get them other then just those quests.

There was a recent bug with one of the everlasting items (I forget which) but that is the only exception...

Actually for me the 1st time I heard about Zaishen Coins, other than it being quest rewards, I thought GW was also going to implement it through the ingame or ncsoft store (like the many free microtrans games out there now), but I was wrong and read about it more. lol.

im personally done grinding for the game, so gl to all.

By my calculations since one small pack = 5 silver coins = 2500g. So since 10 silver coins = 1 gold coin, 15*2*2.5k= 75k give or take a few gold that you pay to get each coin, I would suggest that this be the trader price. Either this or up the ante for the amount of coins that can be collected, like put another 0 after the bronze coin rewards.

I mean comon ANET, you could at the very least give us the light equipment pack on the merch as a compromise.

its not that bad guys, really, if it wasn't for the storage bug, i'd have a gold coin already. did all three quests with 2 chars, 1 or 2 zquests with 2 more chars, i already have 10 silver across some of my characters, if u can get 5 chars that can go anywhere in the game, you can easily get 1 gold coin a day once the bug is corrected.

if i were you guys, i would put all our collective qq towards getting the bug fixed lol.

lol and how much time do you consider CASUAL playing lol. What you did would take me a week of playing time to do. That's CASUAL playing not what you are doing. lol I get a kick out of these hard core who call themselves CASUAL playing hahaha.

I'm rather disappointed to see this too. But, it looks like Anet is wanting more and more every day for Guild Wars to become Grind Wars. It is a shame they want to throw away what really set them apart from other games in this genre.
